Born on March 14, 1968 in Toronto Canada, Megan is best known for her character Anne Shirley in the TV adaptation
of Lucy Maud Montgomery's popular "Anne of Green Gables". This role was
later reprised in both "Anne of Avonlea" and the third equally successful
series, "...The Continuing Story". The performance of the redheaded
orphan earned Megan two Gemini awards and international recognition. It
was during the filming of "Hockey Night" that Megan auditioned for this
part, only months later would she be given a second sitting - Sullivan
Entertainment finally agreeing that she was perfect.
She has also appeared in many commercials, the first of which was at the age of 3. Theatrical productions include "Romeo and Juliet", "Amadeus", "The Effects Of Gamma Rays On Man-In-The-Moon Marigolds", and "Seven Lears: The Pursuit Of The Good.", but will also be well known for movies such as "Silver Bullet" and "Under The Piano". Megan (pronounced Mee-gan) has two children by Christopher Porter, Russell and Lyla-Anne and comes from a showbiz family: her parents, Ted Follows and Dawn Greenhalgh met and committed themselves to lifelong careers as actors, even when their personal lives were extremely turbulent. Their four children grew up in this theatrical world, but were never pushed into it. However, all followed suit - Megan as an actress, Laurence became a stage producer, Edwina is an accomplished TV writer, and Samantha also took up acting. Internet Movie Database Wikipedia |
